The 94 years old Simon Gronowski is born twice. The second was when his mother pushed him off the train on 1943, as they were taking the family to Auschwitz. Now a lawyer for the underprivileged, he speaks twice a week in Belgian schools against the far right and for helping immigrants and has his own jazz group. He recently performed in New York, with Woody Allens’ band.
His best friend is Koenraand, the youngest son of a family of Belgian notorious Nazi collaborators. Koenraands’ older brother was an SS officer and the one who led Simon to the train to Auschwitz.. He asked to meet Simon in person to apologize.
